It is our intention to improve pay and working conditions throughout the
industry.
We want recognition of the vital role road transport, and professional drivers in particular, play in the nation’s economy.
We want to ensure all those for whom road haulage workers provide a service
understand their responsibility to provide a safe and healthy working
environment.
We want to ensure the Government understands and acknowledges that the road
system is the
‘place of work’ for professional drivers. As such it must recognise its responsibility to maintain it to the same
standards of safety legally required at all other places of work.
We want equality of opportunity for both existing workers and those seeking to
join the road haulage industry regardless of age, colour, gender, sexual
orientation, religion or creed.
We want to ensure, as far as is practicable, appropriate opportunities in the
road haulage industry for those subject to any form of disability.
