Barry Carter retirement

27/1/2010

Everybody at the URTU would like to express their thanks and pass on their good wishes to Mr Barry Carter following his retirement in December 2009.

URTU National Officer, Brian Hart, says,

"I first met Barry in 2002 when I became the full time official for Region One, which included branch 1/2/13 Exel Rochdale (M&S Contract). Barry was our Unions senior representative on site.

"I immediately took to Barry due to his down to earth and genuine approach to the role of URTU trade union representative. Barry understood his role and gave his all, and a bit more, with any union related matter.

"He is one of those committed and unsung heroes of our movement and I only wish every local branch of our Union could have such a committed individual working on behalf of our members.

"I do not wish to embarrass Barry with any more compliments but I do wish him and his wife Beryl, the very very best for a long, happy and healthy retirement."
