EXTENSION TO TEMPORARY RELAXATION OF THE ENFORCEMENT OF DRIVERS' HOURS AND WORKING TIME RULES: DELIVERY OF LPG

23/2/2018

Due to continued shortage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at a strategically important refinery in England, the industry have requested an extension to the relaxation granted by the Department for Transport (DfT) on 8 February 2018 (which applied from 00:01 on 9 February 2018 and will run until 23:59 on 22 February 2018).  The DfT, in pursuant to Article 14(2) of Regulation (EC) No 561/2006, has agreed to extend the temporary and limited emergency relaxation of the enforcement of EU drivers' hours and working-time rules for the drivers of vehicles transporting LPG undertaking ‘trunk' deliveries in England and Wales.

This extension to the temporary relaxation will apply from 00:01 on 23 February 2018 and will run until 23:59 on 03 March 2018 and will apply only to those drivers involved in the delivery of LPG within England and Wales. Please see the attached notification.
