TEMPORARY RELAXATION OF THE ENFORCEMENT OF DRIVERS' HOURS AND WORKING TIME RULES: DELIVERY OF LPG

9/2/2018

The Department for Transport has, pursuant to Article 14(2) of Regulation (EC) No 561/2006, agreed to a temporary and limited relaxation of the enforcement of EU drivers' hours and working time rules for drivers of vehicles transporting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) undertaking ‘trunk' deliveries in England and Wales, due to the shortage of LPG at a strategically important refinery in England.

This temporary relaxation applies from 00:01 on 9 February 2018 and will run until 23:59 on 22 February 2018 and will apply only to those drivers involved in the delivery of LPG within England and Wales. Please see the attached notification.

The Department is keeping the current situation under review and reserves the right to withdraw the relaxation earlier if circumstances change.
