VOSA Fixed Penalty Fines

9/7/2010

Further to the recent production of advice regarding VOSA fixed penalty fines (which was supplied in the June 2010 edition of Wheels) it has come to our Union's attention that one of the offences described may be confusing.

We have therefore added further wording to help explain the circumstances when the failure to carry out the procedure may result in an offence being committed.

In the Records section, the previous advice read:

Failure to print out details recorded at end of journey      £120 Fine

For clarity, the above would be an offence in the circumstances, "Where a driver card is damaged, malfunctions, or is not in the possession of the driver".

A pdf of an amended version of the information is available here and in the Members Only area of the website.

Apologies for any confusion caused.
