Below are several key reasons for becoming a member of our Union.

• A dedicated Regional Officer who is there to provide advice, representation, and help at all times.
• Negotiate agreements with employers for better pay and conditions
• Discuss/help with major changes to the workplace such as large-scale redundancy
• Discuss members' concerns with employers
• Accompany members in disciplinary and grievance meetings
• Negotiate better Health & Safety for employees
• Negotiate on key issues, such as fighting to prevent employers using intrusive surveillance

 

Trade union recognition

Employers who have a recognition with our Union will negotiate with us on behalf of our members over pay and conditions.  To gain recognition a Union needs 51% of workers to be members of the Union as Together We Are Stronger.

Many recognition agreements are reached voluntarily, sometimes with the help of the Central Arbitration Committee (CAC)
